Over the past year the notion of what Kuma-chan Records would become has changed - it's become about a group of friends sharing music and ideas, helping each other with the creative process, and building a reputation as a spot where something new and interesting is always happening.
While you're here, be sure to visit the Kumaware page, where you can find free MP3 downloads and other fun stuff. You can also drop by the online shop to order Kuma-chan discs using Paypal.
As always, feel free to send e-mail to us at info@kuma-chan.com with any questions or comments you may have.
Thanks for stopping by!

There hasn't been a lot of news around K-c central lately, but there is one development we're excited about. The initial 500 copies of Hot Hands, our Throwing Muses/Kristin Hersh tribute, completely sold out, so we are reissuing it at a new, lower price. The new lower-price reissue is currently available through the Kuma-chan online shop, at CD Baby or amazon.com. This reissue will be accompanied by a new promotional push, and you should see the lower-priced discs showing up at other online retailers soon. We are also taking our first steps into digital distribution, and will post more about that soon.

Pause played their second live gig at the Voodoo Lounge on Saturday, May 3rd. John Ashfield from The Bobbleheads joined the lineup as a second guitarist for this set, and a good time was had by all. The band debuted three new live tracks: the original "October Pop Song," a cover of Depeche Mode's "I Want You Now," and a cover of Tears for Fears' "Shout." The rest of the evening's lineup included Betaville and Ixia, who drew rave reviews from the kuma-friends in attendance. You can see pics and the setlist on the 05-03-03 gig page, and you can check out some Pause tracks on the mp3 page.
The world live debut of Pause on Friday, February 28 at the Voodoo Lounge in San Francisco was a great success. The show featured performances from Kuma-chan pals Ploughound and The Bobbleheads, as well as Chi Chi Palace. You can view the set list & pics on the 02-28-03 gig page.
